What does ACTV stand for?

Adams Community Television.

What is ACTV?

ACTV is a Non-Profit Telecommunications Company established to inform, celebrate, and

entertain the people of Adams County and Surrounding Counties.

Who Started ACTV?

Raymond Gouker, a multi-media instructor, started ACTV with the intent to showcase local

sports, people, and events.

Is ACTV a Public Access Channel?

No ACTV is a Non-Profit Local Origination Station commonly referred to as a PEG channel (Public Education, and Government).

What is the difference between Public Access and Local Origination?

Public access channels are government funded and anyone in the veiwing community

can use the station to air any program that they may wish to air. Local Origination

Stations are usually only supported by the cable company and need to seek addtional

income through advertising, grants, and donations. Programming is selected and controlled

more closly within a Local Origination station.

Does ACTV receive any government funding?

No. ACTV does not receive any government funding.

How is ACTV funded?

ACTV receives a monthly contibution from the Comcast Cable Company. Additionally ACTV

gains a small amount of its income from commercials, donations and tape/DVD sales.

Whats the best time to contact ACTV?

3pm to 9pm Monday threw Thursday and 3pm to 7pm Friday or you can leave a

message anytime and we will return your call a soon as possible.

If ACTV is a Non-Profit Organization why do they need advertising and donations?

ACTV needs advertising and donations to pay bill, upgrade equipment and sets, purchase

tapes and office supplies, and pay operations staff.

Why is advertising with ACTV so cheap?

Simple supply and demand. Currently we have a large supply of advertising space to fill and

little demand.

Are the producers of ACTV paid?

No. All producers and hosts on ACTV graciously volunteer there time and effort to help

ACTVs cause of celebrating community.

I have information about an upcomming Non-Profit event. How can I advertize this

event on ACTV?

If you wish to shoot an in-studio commercial for your Non-Profit event ACTV will

help you get your information on the air. Call (717)334-3000.

What are ACTVs telecast hours?

ACTV is on the air from 8am to 11am and 3pm to 11pm seven days a week.

Does ACTV run the text based slide show?

No. Currently between the hours of 11pm to 8am and 11am to 3pm (the hours ACTV is off air) the Comcast's Bulliton Board is aired on channel 10. Comcast alone opporates this text base slide show which informs the community of upcomming events.

Why doesn't ACTV cover every event in Adams County?

Due to the lack of funds and personel ACTV is currently not able to cover every event

happening in Adams County?

How do I start a new show on ACTV?

Start by writing a show proposal, including the all information from the format, running

time, subject, schedule, ect.

Then call ACTV to set up an appointment to explain your ideal to ACTVs Chairman.
