What is ACTV?

ACTV is a Non-Profit Media Company established to inform, celebrate, and entertain the people of Adams County and surrounding counties.

Who Started ACTV?

Many Adams community members were responsible for the creation of ACTV. See the History page.

Is ACTV a Public Access Channel?

No ACTV is a Non-Profit Local Origination Station commonly referred to as a PEG channel (Public, Education, and Government).

Is ACTV publicly funded?

No. ACTV currently does not receive public funds.

How is ACTV funded?

ACTV receives a monthly contibution from the Comcast Cable Company. Additionally ACTV gains a small amount of its income from program underwriting, donations and tape/DVD sales.

If ACTV is a Non-Profit Organization why do you need underwriters and donations?

ACTV needs underwriting and donations to sustain programing and operations, upgrade equipment, and pay for operations staff.

Why is underwriting with ACTV so affordable?

ACTV believes in supporting local businesses with cost effective underwriting.

Are the producers of ACTV paid?

No. All producers and hosts on ACTV graciously volunteer their time and efforts to help ACTV's mission of celebrating community.

What are ACTVs telecast hours?

ACTV is on air from 8am to 11am and 3pm to 11pm EST seven days a week.

Does ACTV operate the bulletin board?

No. Currently between the hours of 11pm to 8am and 11am to 3pm (the hours ACTV is off air) the Comcast Bulliton Board is aired on our channel. Comcast alone opporates this text based slide show which informs the community of upcomming events.

Why doesn't ACTV cover every event in Adams County?

Due to the lack of funds and personel, ACTV is currently not able to cover every event happening in Adams County?
