We Can. We Will. End AIDS.

In 30 years, AIDS has taken 30 million precious lives. But for the first time in history, the end is in sight. The key breakthrough: providing treatment for people living with HIV not only saves lives, it reduces the risk of transmission by an unprecedented 96 percent.

What does that mean? It means that if we increase the number of people who have access to treatment we can end the spread of AIDS once and for all. But treating millions won't be easy - we need a movement to push leaders around the world to make an AIDS-free generation a reality. This could be one of the greatest legacies we leave for our children.

World AIDS Day, marked the beginning of the end of AIDS. As a down-payment on ending the global epidemic, Obama announced that PEPFAR would set new targets of treating nearly twice as many people by 2013.

Despite this great win, the battle is far from over. Global citizens must now join together and speak with one voice to ensure governments step up their efforts and commit to the ultimate goal of ending AIDS.
